Personal Safe

Personal safes are typically defined as being for personal use while traveling. Though this is not an exclusive definition, it serves to distinguish between home safes and travel safes. Many hotels across the world offer in room safes to store important documents and valuables while abroad.

Some hotels may not have personal safes in every room, but will have a private safe available for use upon request. These safe rooms are often operated much like a safety deposit box at a bank, where a person is given a box and a private room to store or remove valuables. The box is then taken and deposited in a secure wall bank of safes.

Personal safes are convenient and provide peace of mind in a person’s travels. They make it unnecessary to lug a small strongbox around and are usually quite safe. Still, it’s important to do some research about any hotel willing to hold your valuables before leaving anything with them.
